Jeremiah "Miah" Scott Christiansen, 33, of Maplewood, formerly of Red Wing, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 7, 2015. He was born on June 10, 1982 to Gregory and Cheryl (Torbenson) Christiansen. He grew up and attended school in Red Wing, graduating from Red Wing Central High School. He worked for the St. James Hotel and Sears but spent the most time working with Storings Flooring. In 2012 he moved to Maplewood where he owned a home. In 2014 he accomplished a childhood dream when he earned his train conductors license and went on to work for BNSF Railway. Jeremiah was also an accomplished musician and singer. He wrote and composed his own lyrics and music and in 2011 he won Stereofame.com's June's Artist of the Month for his song "I Feel." He also recorded a full length album of original work in that same year. Jeremiah enjoyed the spotlight and was a talented entertainer. He also enjoyed the outdoors, and spent his time fishing, snowboarding and camping. A bit of a child at heart, he loved spending time with his nieces, nephews and little brother. Jeremiah will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his willingness to lend a hand and his easy going demeanor which always made him a comfortable person to pass the time with.
Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Greg Christiansen and Cheryl Torbenson; siblings, Rachel (Sam) Moldenhauer, Micah (Whittney Jablonski) Christiansen and Aiden Christiansen; grandmother, JoAnne Christiansen; nieces and nephews; Alex and Lennon Moldenhauer and Kaiya and Thorson Jablonski; many cousins, other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jacob; grandparents, Donald Christiansen and Connie and Clarence Torbenson.
