Yvonne L. Hanson

Yvonne LaMae Hanson, 83, of Red Wing passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016. She was born on June 7, 1933 to Emile and Helen Maxe in Red Wing. She grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. A few days after graduation she got married on her birthday, June 7, to Harlan Hanson. She was a homemaker, but she helped Harlan run their business, Hanson Paint and Floor Covering. She was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church and later New Life United Pentecostal Church. She also took care of the Eagle House, and enjoyed that very much. She kept very busy and active with her family. She was a loving and quiet influence to a lot of people. Some of her hobbies included playing the piano and the organ and also playing a lot of scrabble. Yvonne was a farm girl at heart who loved animals. Most of all she loved to laugh - without fear of the future.
Yvonne is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harlan; sons, Bruce (Tarina) Hanson of Dallas, Texas and Michael (Cindy) Hanson of Red Wing; daughters, Nancy Rich of Centuria, WI and Merrilee (Michael) Roskos of Red Wing; daughter-in-law; Connie Hanson of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Flemming, Elizabeth (Charlie) Tierney, Danae Hanson, Alex Hanson, Janna (Jarrod) DeMond, Rebekah Hanson, Jesse Rich, Justin Roskos, and Patrick Roskos; as well as many great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Greg Hanson; her parents; 1 sister; and 1 brother.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at First Covenant in Red Wing. A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
