Winton F. Johnson

Winton F. Johnson, 86, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 at his home.  He was born Feb. 17, 1934, in Red Wing, to Levi and Betsie (Andersen) Johnson.  He grew up in Ellsworth and attended Ottman Corner Grade School and Ellsworth High School.  In 1956, he enlisted in the US Navy and served until he was honorably discharged in 1958.  He was employed at RW Shoe Company for 15 years and at Central Research for 25 years.  In his free time he enjoyed working on his computer and operating his HAM Radio.

He is survived by his sister, Audrey (Butch) Jonas of Red Wing; niece, Anita Jonas-Getting (Terry Getting) of Rochester; 2 nephews, Bradley (Annette) Jonas of Red Wing and Steve Jonas of Owatonna; a great-niece, Helena Jonas and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
