Winifred "Winnie" Purdy Carlson
A longtime resident of Frontenac, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Jan 4, 2011 at the Lake City Nursing Home.
She is survived by a son in law Eugene Anderson of Cottage Grove, MN, grandchildren Scott Kerssen (Joan) of Milwaukee, WI, Sandra (Rick) Gonzalez of Plano, TX, Shari (Gerald) Cartwright of Everton, AR five great grandchildren, Valerie Price of Mpls., MN, Nicole and Julian Gonzalez of Plano, TX and Rebecca and Christina Cartwright of Everton, AR. and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents George S. and Nellie Purdy, husband Harold L. Carlson, and daughter, F. Bonnie Anderson.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:00 pm at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 110 South Oak Street, Lake City, MN with a reception following the service at the church.
Winnie, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had many interests throughout the years which included, playing bridge, painting, golfing, cross country skiing, and canoeing. She also enjoyed foraging for various mushrooms, fruits and nuts, and observing animals of all kinds. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
