OBITUARY: WILLIS W. DENNY Graveside services for Willis W. Denny will be at 3:30PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Pine Island Cemetery in Pine Island. Military honors will be provided by the Charles Cowden Post #184 of the American Legion. Mr. Denny, age 73, of Pine Island died on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. He was born Willis Wilber Denny on September 27, 1932 in Dodge County, MN to Thomas and Myrtle (Campbell) Denny. He attended schools in International Falls and Pine Island, MN. Willis entered the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged. Willis married Edna Hill on May 9, 1955 in International Falls. Following their marriage, the couple lived in International Falls where Willis worked for Boise Cascade. They moved to Rochester in 1925 and Willis worked for IBM for 30 years. He was a staff systems analysis when he retired in 1955. Willis was a member of the Charles Cowden Post #184 of the American Legion in Pine Island, a member of the Pine Island Historical Center and an active member of the Republican National Party. He enjoyed playing guitar, genealogy research, a history buff, woodworker, outdoorsman, artist/painter and a gardener. He is survived by his wife, Edna, of Pine Island, MN; one son, Frank Denny, of Rochester, MN; one daughter, Wanda Denny, of Tucson, AZ and ten grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
