William Byron Webster III was born in St. Paul, MN one of four children of William and Josephine Webster. He grew up in St. Paul and attended Central High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army-Air Corp in 1943 and was discharged in 1946. He attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN and lettered in 3 sports. He met Elizabeth (Betty) Reding from Lake City and they married in 1952 and throughout their marriage lived in St. Paul, Lake City and his beloved Frontenac, MN. They raised 7 children. He spent 25 years as a manufacturer's representative with the Master Lock Co. covering eight mid-western states. Co-owner of Mt. Frontenac Inc. Golf and Ski. Founder and former CEO of Wild Wings, Inc. and for many years actively aided in many non-profit conservation organizations. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and waterfowl and upland game bird hunter. He served on local church and township boards, was a trustee of Delta Waterfowl Foundation, Ducks Unlimited and the University of MN Bell Museum of Natural History.
Survived by Brothers Peter M Webster, Byron G Webster and children William B Webster IV (Kathy), Paul J Webster, Nancy (Warren) Zander, Baard P Webster (Diane), Andrew T Webster, Sarah (Terry) Cox, Christopher ‘Kip' Webster and his grandchildren Bailey, Katie, Jennie, Webster, Malaby, Betsy, Jeffrey, Elliot, Easton and Will. Proceeded in death by his parents, wife Betty and brother Devereux.
In lieu of flowers memorials to be sent to Delta Waterfowl Foundation, Bell Museum of Natural History and Villa Maria Center.
