William David Herring a.k.a. David Peterson

William David Herring, a.k.a, David Peterson 68, died on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Rochester West Health Services. He was born on August 27, 1948 in California. He was adopted by Lester & Dorothy (Fern) Peterson and grew up in rural Minnesota and Wisconsin. He graduated from Ashland High School. After graduation, he went to school to study welding and also attended the seminary and was a member of the clergy. He went on to drive truck for many years. On June 29, 2000, he married No Nguyen in Vietnam. William enjoyed motorcycles, movies, fishing, collecting nick-nacks, especially Avon bottles, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He will be remembered as being a fun-loving jokester as he was always playing pranks and teasing.

He is survived by his wife, No, of Red Wing; children, Timmy Peterson, Apryl (Thomas) Gubrud of New Richmond, Angie (Donald) Chouinard of Glenwood City, and Aaron Peterson of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Serinya, Amanda, Declan and Calvin Gubrud, Hunter, Hogan, and Harrison Chouinard, and Max Peterson; sisters, Karen (Chris Salzgeber) Thoen of Chippewa Falls and LaDon (Steve) Martin of Texas; brother, Don (Linda) DeDiemar of Bennett, CO; and foster sister, Vicki Faulkner (Theron "Tates", Jr.) of Boscobel, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bill Herring, Sr.; and sons, Jimmy Peterson and Andrew Paul Peterson.
