A memorial service for William Jensch will be held Thursday December 17th at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. The Reverend Wayne Schoch will officiate. Burial of Mr. Jensch's cremated remains with military honors will follow at the Zumbrota Cemetery. Mr. Jensch, 60, of Zumbrota, died Saturday December 12, 2009 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
William Russell Jensch was born September 8, 1949 in Rochester. Raised near Rochester, he was a graduate of Zumbrota High School with the Class of 1967. In 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He moved to Detroit, Michigan, and became an auto mechanic. In 1976 he returned to Zumbrota and continued in the auto mechanic profession until 1979. He then attended Rochester Community College for a year and then continued his college education at the University of Wisconsin in Stout, graduating in 1983. He married Jean Tangen on August 20,1983 at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. As a chemical engineer, he worked 22 years with Fremont Industries Inc. in Shakopee, retiring in August due to declining health.
He was a member of various Corvette clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Jensch of Zumbrota; a daughter, Victoria Jensch of Zumbrota; brothers, Richard (Jane) Jensch of Zumbro Falls, David (Dawn) Jensch of Esko, Thomas (Kim) Jensch of West Concord, and Robert (Noa) Jensch of Henderson, Nevada; sisters, Teresa Leary of Oronoco, Mary Olson of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Margaret (Jeff) Vaughan of Salon Springs, Wisconsin; parents-in-law, Lloyd and Amy Tangen of Pine Island; brothers-in-law, Paul (Helen) Tangen of Grand Meadow, Donald (LeAnn) Tangen of Sartell, and Lowell (Kathleen) Tangen of Wanamingo; sisters-in-law, Mary (Lowell) Berglund of Dawson, Susan (Daniel) Abel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Ann (Paul) Nibbe of Zumbrota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Russell and Evelyn Jensch; 2 brothers-in-law, and a nephew.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Larson Chapel, in Zumbrota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, Seasons Hospice, or to Christ Lutheran Church's Kids for Christ program.
