William ?Bill? George Diercks, 91 of Red Wing died Tuesday at the Fairview Seminary Home. He was born on June 17, 1914 in Vancouver, Wash., the son of Louis and Edith (Stelter) Diercks. He moved to Red Wing when he was 12 years old. He attended schools in Washington and Belvidere. On June 15, 1945 he was married to Lilly Miller. He farmed until the age of 35 and then worked for SB Foot Tanning retiring in 1974. He was the sexton in charge at Belvidere Union Cemetery for many years. He was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran, Redman Club and Elks BPOE #845. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Lilly and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry and Elmer and five sisters, Emma Johnson, Lucille Musgrave, Donna Flemke, Esther Meyer and Wanda Diercks. Funeral will 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church with Rev. Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be in the Belvidere Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
