William M. Cleary age 64 of Lake City died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Lake City Hospital. William was born March 22, 1942 in Racine, Wisconsin. He graduated from Racine High School. He worked as an EMT in the Racine and Eau Clair, WI area. He then worked as a Conductor for the Canadian Pacific Railroad for ten years. In 1976 he was injured in a train derailment and was forced to retire. He married Liane (Weers) Budensiek June 17, 1983 at First Lutheran Church in Lake City. He served with the Civil Air Patrol, working with the Red Wing, Civil Air Patrol and the Minnesota Wing, Civil Air Patrol in the area of Communications and emergancie services. He held the rank of LT Col. He enjoyed amature radio. He also participated in search and rescue operation with his dog Bob. He also enjoyed spending time walking in our many state parks. He is survived by his wife; one son, Sean of Toronto, Canada; one daughter Jodie of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren; three step children Kathy Budensiek of Lake City, Allen Budensiek of Lake City, Mark (Katie) Budensiek of Lake City; six step-grandchildren; two brothers Brian of Orcas Island, Washington, John (Margaret) of Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday October 24, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mahn Family funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City with LT Col (Chaplin) Donald Mikkita officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.
