ROCHESTER The memorial service for Willard D. "Willie" Nelson will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel with Rev. Greg Heidorn of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
Mr. Nelson, age 77, of Rochester, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 2009) at his home.
Willie was born June 8, 1932 in Rochester and attended Rochester Schools. He married Lillian Bluhm, she survives. He served in the U.S. Army for two years before returning to Rochester. He worked as a Body Shop Technician for the Lincoln-Mercury Dealership in Rochester for many years. He also worked at Pulver Towing and Jim Whiting Nursery and Garden Center before his retirement. He enjoyed his grandson and fishing.
Other survivors include two sons, Steve of Rochester; and Willie, Jr. of Eyota, MN; his grandson Willie of Rochester; two sisters, Gloria Vandal of Rochester; and Joan (Mervin) Knutson of Grand Meadow, MN; three brothers, Kenneth (Ramona) of Rochester, John (Helen) of Hoyt Lakes, MN; and Glen, Jr. (Judy) of Virginia, MN. He was preceded in death by a son Randy, and two brothers.
Friends may call one hour before the service on Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel.
