Wilbert Dicke

Wilbert "Willy" Henry Dicke, 84 of Red Wing, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Seminary Home surrounded by family. He was born on August 8, 1928 in Red Wing to Walter and Amalia (Strusz) Dicke. He was baptized on September 2, 1928, confirmed on March 29, 1942 and rededicated his life to God in March 1973. He attended Featherstone Township and Immanuel Lutheran Schools. On February 14, 1967 he married Gwen Zemke. He worked on the family farm, Willis Conoco, Cramers Hatchery, Frontenac Ski Village, Goodhue Elevator, Midland Co-op, YMCA and the Seminary Home, retiring in the 1990's. He was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church. His family recalls his love for animals, farming, his tractors, especially John Deere's and how he enjoyed socializing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen; his children, Marla (Howard) Solender of St. Louis Park, Lisa (Kip) Massett of Zumbrota, Laurel (Douglas) Lantis of Red Wing, Aimee Paulson of Waseca and Angela Dicke of Red Wing; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Kermit (Angie) Dicke of Lake City; three sisters, Verna Schrader of Red Wing, Frances Fitschen of Lake City and Doris (Howard) Swanson of Maple Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; two brothers, Donald and Earl and one sister, Viola Rohe.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Concordia Lutheran Church with the Reverends Tyge Zucker and Ronald Stehr officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hay Creek. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
