Weston "Wes" Evan Stelter

Weston "Wes" Evan Stelter, 56 of Bay City, died, Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born March 12, 1961 to Albert and Elizabeth (Tiedeman) Stelter in Red Wing. He grew up in Red Wing and attended Red Wing Central High School, graduating in 1979. He went on to receive his welding certification from Red Wing Votech. While catting the loop he met his future wife, Janice Nash and the couple married on September 12, 1981 at Zion Covenant church in Ellsworth. They made their home in Red Wing and the couple raise one daughter. Starting in high school and forever after, he worked in one capacity or another at Joe's Mobil. He also worked for Riesgraf Construction and Capital Safety, where he retired from after 20 plus years. Currently, he worked for Weiser Concrete in Ellsworth.
Wes was an active member and a deacon at Bible Center Church in Maiden Rock. He was also a faithful and reliable volunteer at church where he was always the first to show up to help and the last to leave. Wes loved to tinker and was a fix-it-genius. He was also an owner and partner with Jan in The Enhanced Image, her salon, where he took care of the day to day maintenance. Wes truly enjoyed being helpful and loved to feel needed and useful. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, hunting and golfing. He had a mischievous nature paired with a forgiving smile that often got him out of trouble. He was a wonderful father, upstaging himself only in his ability to be a wonderful grandfather. Most of all, Wes was known for his work ethic. He was dedicated, hardworking and a faithful provider for his family.
He will be missed by many, including his wife, Jan of Bay City; daughter, Dianna (Kenneth) Pasche of Red Wing; one grandson, Elias Pasche; siblings, Teresa (Michael) Ratz of Arizona, Valerie (Tom) Stelter of Duluth, Michelle Baringer, Beth Ann (Jay) Lunde and Eric (Brenda) Stelter all of Red Wing; mother, Elizabeth Stelter also of Red Wing; his nieces and nephews, Shannon, David, Jericka, Justin and Kierstin.
He is preceded in death by his father, Albert and one grandson, Evan Pasche.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Bible Center Church in Maiden Rock with Pastor Don Shilts officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing and one hour prior to the service at church.
