Wayne Dale Wadleigh, age 60, of Lake City passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Lake City. He was born on August 29, 1954 in Madison, MN to Frank and Lenora (Goetsch) Wadleigh. He grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School. Wayne went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota - Morris. After school, he lived in New Hope where he worked as an adjustor and underwriter for American Family Insurance. He married Sharon Rindle on October 6, 1979 in Chaska. They moved to Rochester where Wayne continued working with American Family. He later transferred to Wausau, WI and retired in 2012. Wayne and Sharon moved to Lake City in November of 2014. Wayne was an avid golfer and loved collecting rocks. He went on many travels and his favorite part was always planning out the trips.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Lake City; brother, Al (Shari) Wadleigh of Northfield; seven nieces and nephews, Laura and Rachel Wadleigh, Connie Mertens, Ashley, Nathan, Alyssa, and Christine Rindle; sister-in-law, Ruth Mertens; two brothers-in-law, Rich and Ron Rindle; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Duane Holst officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
