Walter ?Mooney? Franklin Jaenke, Sr., age 66, of Welch, died Monday at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born August 3, 1939, in Cadott, Wisconsin, the son of Walter and Hilda (Raether) Jaenke. He attended schools in Cadott. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1957, before being honorably discharged. He worked for Klay?s Garage in Cadott, Radant Construction in Eau Claire and Dawes Trucking. He married Marion Greene on May 5, 1962, and they moved to Red Wing in 1963. He worked for Lawrence Trucking, Knutson Trucking, Midwest Trucking and S. B. Foot Tannery. From 1978 to 1979, they lived in Libby, Montana, where he worked for Walt?s Chevron Service Station. They moved back to Red Wing in 1979, and he worked for McMillen Electric in Woodville, Wisconsin; Caterpillar in the Twin Cities and currently for Nadeau Construction. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping, trucking and his family. Survivors include his wife, Marion; three sons, Walter, Jr. of Welch, Andrew (Jenny) of Red Wing, and Darren (Jody) of Welch; six grandchildren, Allison, Tyler, Angel, Hunter and Corden Jaenke and Serena Scanlon; two brothers, Milton (Marilyn) of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and Larry (Susan) of Iowa Falls, Iowa; three sisters, Carol (John) Woodford of Janesville, Wisconsin, Karen (Bruce) Thordson of Stillwater and Kathy Jaenke of Cadott; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Nathan; and one sister, Beverly Ramsier. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend Bob Albing officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Hanson, Mike Nadeau, Ryan Jaenke, Jeff Rehder and Steve and Rod Furlong. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
