Waive Augusta Schlichting, 92, of Red Wing, died Tuesday August 2, 2011 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born on November 18, 1918 in Foster Township, MN to Adolph Steinhauer and Emma Sens. She graduated from Wells High School in 1936. On May 8, 1947 she married Herbert Gallimore and they moved to Red Wing. Herbert died in 1956. She then married Richard Powers in 1960 and later divorced. In 1968 she married Al Schlichting. Al died in 1993. She worked in Red Wing and in the Twin Cities as a book keeper for various employers. Waive enjoyed making quilts and needlework. She also was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Waive is survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Herbert and Al; one brother, Donald Steinhauer; and one sister, Eileen Barghusen.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 6th at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Dar Reeck officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the church
