Vivian Carol Koplin, 90, of Red Wing, died Monday, April 21, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus. She was born January 13, 1935, in Red Wing, to William and Mabel (Myhrer) Hemmingson. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Koplin on December 22, 1956. They made their home in Red Wing. Vivian loved holidays and decorating the home for them. She and Bob enjoyed playing cards with their friends when they were younger and they often spent their summers down at the family cabin or heading out on family vacations. Vivian loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to all their sporting events and activities. Her weekly coffee dates with her neighborhood friends and classmates were always something she looked forward to. She is survived by her children, Julie (Darold) Glander, Cheryl Koplin, Rick (Tracy) Koplin, Randy Koplin and Cory Koplin; grandchildren, Andrew, Matt (Vanessa) Glander, Cameron (Chloe Anderson) Koplin, Brendan Koplin and Julia (Grant) Van Dyken; great-grandchild, Riley Glander and special friend and caregiver, Connie Halverson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2020 and a sister Veletta Linville.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at United Lutheran Church, where she had been a life-long member. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church, Kiwanis Flower Basket Fund or ELC.
