VirJean Mae Kristo, Red Wing, died Saturday, November 7, 2009. She was born May 14, 1929 in Winnebago, Ill, the daughter of Carl J. and LaVerna (Evans) Cederberg. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator. She married George Stefan Kristo. She loved her family, especially get-togethers with her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, she was a good listener and mom, a big hockey and baseball fan and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband, George of Red Wing; her children: Jon (Lori) Kristo of Red Wing and Ellen (Rudy) Timm of Mission Viejo, California; grandchildren: Kimberly (Ron) Kirchner, Annette (Tim) Thomas, Jennifer (Brad) Bremer, Diana (Jerry) Rice, Molly, Ethan, Beth and Cally Timm; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Burial will be in Tabor Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling arrangements.
