Virginia L. Jackson, age 66, of Zumbrota died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with Pastor Eric Westlake officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.
Virginia Louise Rubin was born on August 4, 1947 in Hastings, MN to Raymond and Julia (nee Bartholomew) Rubin. Virginia grew up in Pine Island and on October 14, 1966 she married Duane Jackson at the Assembly of God Church in Pine Island. They made their home in Zumbrota. Virginia worked at Zumco for about six years, until the birth of her second child. Virginia became a full time homemaker and Duane worked as a milk hauler. Virginia enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her popcorn balls at Christmas time.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Duane; daughters, Kathy (friend Dale Thorn) Morris of Pine Island and Denise Ellefson of Millville, who Virginia raised from the age of four; son, Ray (Tracy) Jackson of Mazeppa; grandchildren, Jacob (Jessica) Warehime of Rochester, Adam Warehime, Tyler, Alex and Juliah Jackson, Daniel and Courtney Ellefson and Autumn Morris; great-granddaughter, Hayden Warehime; sisters, Erma (Dale) Horsman of Rochester and Carol (Stanley) Jackson of Zumbrota and brother, Robert (Sue) Rubin of Stewartville; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Julia; brothers, Herman, Charlie and Leo Rubin.
