Virginia Katherine Holst

Mrs. Virginia Holst died on October 28, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Nursing Home, in Lake City. Mrs. Holst was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Holst, and her parents, Herman and Katherine.
Her immediate survivors are Blaine (Josephine) Baesler, Diana (William) Gladden, Philip (Linda) McNairy, Judy (Donald) LeWin, Scott (Nancy) McNairy and Lynn (Robert) Butler.
Mrs. Holst was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was active in the Lady's Aid Friendship Club. She was a member and past president of the Lake City Women's Club, the Hospital Auxillary, the Senior Citizen and the Trillium Garden Club. Virginia and her husband, Norman, were active on the board of directors of the Red Wing Concert Association for over 40 years, and she was the author of two books "Gift Wrapping Ideas" and "All Wrapped Up."
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lake City, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013. The burial will take place immediately following at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Reverends, Dennis Valleau and Daniel Kroll will preside at the church and will be assisted by the Reverend Philip E. McNairy at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church or St. John's Missionary Fund.
