Virgil Moore

Virgil Moore Jr., 88, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 18, 2019 at St. Crispin Living Community. He was born March 25, 1931 in Aurora, Nebraska to Virgil Sr. and Ormetta (Hunt) Moore. He attended schools in Martin, SD. On August 20, 1955 he was united in marriage with Shirley Minder at First Presbyterian church in Martin, SD. They moved to Minnesota where Virgil began working at Foley Brothers as a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, listening to country western music and most importantly spending time with his family. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Red Wing and served in the Navy. He is survived by wife Shirley; 3 children, Brenda (Rick) Kirchner, Bill (Bunny) Moore and Jeri Moore; 11 grand-children; 18 great-grandchildren and one brother, Donald Moore. Preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Norma Allard and Shirley Tech; and granddaughter Rachel.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Greg Bolt officiating. Full military honors will follow.
