Violet Georgia Kundert

Violet Georgia Kundert, age 94, of Pine Island, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. She was born on February 22, 1919, in West Concord, the daughter of Arthur and Tina (Reider) Smith. On May 11, 1941 she married Harold Kundert in Pine Island. The couple farmed in the Pine Island area for many years. Violet lived in Pine Island until she recently moved to Meadow Lakes Senior Living in Rochester. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Pine Island.

Violet is survived by her daughter, LaVonne Riess (Bob) Salley of Rochester; son, Ronald (Cheryl) Kundert of Rochester; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Marie Baumgartner of Kenyon, and Myrtle Slaght of South Dakota.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, who died on January 3, 2004; brothers, Duard, Howard, and Leslie Smith.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Pine Island with Pastor Tim Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and for one hour prior to the service at the church. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
