Viola Mae Grant, 82, Red Wing, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born January 11, 1932 in Ava, Missouri, the daughter of Calvin and Clara (Green) Grim. She worked for the Army Air Force Exchange Service for 20 years, 1969 - 1989 as a merchandise clerk in California and Nevada. She married Edward Grant on December 4, 1976. She also worked at St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in California from 1993-1995. They moved to Red Wing in 2010. She enjoyed bowling and ceramics. She is remembered for her beautiful sweet smile and her caring and kindness she showed toward everyone.
Survivors include, her loving husband, Edward; three daughters, Deborah Gloria, Diana (Bruce) Rasmussen and Denise Van Deusen; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; five step-sons and one sister, Norma Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ralph W. Grim; two sisters, Clara Helen Byers and Anna Ruth Street and one son-in-law, Larry Van Deusen.
