Vincent E. Deden, age 83, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Lake City Hospital of a heart attack. Vincent was born October 12, 1922, in Hay Creek Township in Goodhue County to Edward & Marietta (Mehrkens) Deden. Vincent grew up in Hay Creek Township. He married Adeline Hayman on August 14, 1946 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. They farmed in Hay Creek Township until 1983. He also was secretary and manager of Hay Creek Mutual Insurance for 25 years. He was on the Board of Directors of the ASCS for six years; he also served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Association of Farm Mutual Insurance Companies. He was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church in Red Wing .Vincent also served on St. John?s church council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, and bowling. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Niles (Susan) of Red Wing, Jerome (Mary Bell) of Lanesboro, Ross (Deborah) of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Alice Deden, Claire Deden, Heather Deden, Zack Deden, Gabe Deden; two-step grandchildren, Eric Gehrke, Sally Gehrke; two great grandchildren Hunter and Alysse Gehrke; one sister, Della Chinader of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin and Vernon Deden; one sister Margaret Halverson. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Red Wing with the Rev. Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Bodelson Chapel Red Wing. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Alice Deden, Claire Deden, Heather Deden, Zack Deden, Gabe Deden, Eric Gehrke, and Sally Gehrke.
