Vernette Rochelle Davis, 93, of Red Wing, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was born July 5, 1913 in Trimbelle Twsp., Wisconsin to Theodore and Anna (Hanson) Bystrom. She attended rural school at Ottman Corners and Hager City. She married Edward Davis on August 26, 1933 in Red Wing. He preceded her in death in October of 1989. She was employed for a time at Red Wing Pottery where she hand decorated the ceramics, painting the yellow roses on the pottery. She had also worked at Burnside Grocery and the Sterling Motel in Red Wing. She enjoyed crafts; collecting, designing and sewing clothes for dolls; gardening; raising flowers and traveling. She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia (Donald) Langworthy of rural Wanamingo; one son, Jerry (Sally) Davis of Hayfield, MN; four grandchildren, Ehryn (John) Barthelme of Rochester, Shawnee (Philip) Daniel of Northfield, Jon (Catherine) Davis of Rochester and Peggy (Brady) Leitch of Kasson; 3 great-grandchildren, Kate Lynn Barthelme of Rochester and Connor and Katrina Davis of Rochester; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; 4 brothers, Lee, Vernon, William and Harry and 3 sisters, Lucille, Lillis and Della. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Gordon Trelstad officiating. Burial will be at the Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Gerdes, Joel Hanson, Jonathon Davis, Brady Leitch, Philip Daniel and John Barthelme. Visitation will be Tuesday 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service.
