Verle Archer Copp, 88, of Lake City died Wednesday, at the Lake City Nursing Home.

He was born June 20, 1920 in Lake City to Archer and Grace (Geppert) Copp. He grew up in Gillford Twsp in Wabasha County. He married Margaret Wasley on April 20, 1949 in Lake City. They farmed on the family farm until 1992 when they retired and moved to Lake City. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and Lake City Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed music, dancing, cards, and fishing. He was the drummer in Archie's Orioles, Country Boys, and the Zumbro Valley Dutchmen.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Lake City; son, Dean (Gina) Copp of Janesville, WI; daughter, Dawn Copp of Lake City; five grandchildren, Dan, Brian, Marissa, A.J., and Sabrina. Three sisters, Lorraine Rabe of Lake City, Ada Larson of Rochester, Evelyn (Don) Dahling of Lake City. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Darren Paulson officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
