Vaughn Albert Schultz, 92, of Red Wing, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1918 in Plum City, Wisconsin to Albert and Elizabeth (Staehli) Schultz and attended school in the Plum City area. He joined the US Army and served in the European Theater during WW II, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was employed as a mechanic at several garages throughout the Red Wing area for over 40 years. After retirement his friends continued to bring their vehicles to Vaughn at his home for repair. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by twin sisters, Elizabeth Kutschied of Red Wing and Eleanor (Lowell) Swanson of Spooner, Wisconsin; brother, Leslie Schultz of Red Wing; nieces, nephews and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glenn Schultz.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Free Home Cemetery in Rural Plum City. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
