Valeria Traxler

Valeria "Val" Breuer Traxler, 98, of Pine Island died on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

She was born to John and Elizabeth (Mahowold) Breuer June 29, 1925 in New Market, MN. She moved as a young child with her family to Deer River, MN. Where she spent her childhood graduating from Deer River High School in 1942. In 1946 she married Laverne "Dick" Traxler and were married for 63yrs. They made their home in St. Charles, MN where they added to their young family with the births of four girls, Lynda, Elizabeth, Mary and Teresa.

Val worked at Sears in Rochester for over 23 years. In 1965 the Traxler's moved to Rochester. When the girls graduated from high school Dick and Val moved to their country spot in rural Pine Island. Dick passed away in 2009. Val, being a very social person continued to live in the home she loved on the Zumbro River until her health crisis which caused her to move into the Pine Haven Care Center for the last four months of her life.

Val was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern; daughter, Becky (Elizabeth) Murray; parents, John and Elizabeth Breuer; sisters, Marcella Danielson and Deloris Drotts;

She is survived and will be missed by her daughters, daughters, Lynda (Norm) Nordstrom, Mary (Nils) Anderson, and Teresa Wick; son-in-law, Jim Murray eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Pine Island Cemetery.
