Valeria "Babe" Messal, 79, of Hager City, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1932 in Elmwood, Wisconsin to Sherman and Elizabeth Robelia. She married Edward Messal in Mountain Lake, Minnesota in 1948. They lived several years in Milwaukee, Bay City and Hager City, Wisconsin,
She worked for H & R Block, had her own tax business, cooked for Senior Citizen Program, owned a café business, worked for St. James Hotel and Treasure Island. She enjoyed yard work, flower gardens, card games, fishing, playing with her cats and creating wood crafts. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a twinkle in her eye, always a smile.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Sherry of Bay City and Barbara Peterson of Hager City; one grandson, Steven Hohmann; one sister, Sharon Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family burial will be at Bay City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
