Ursula Beatrice Bezoier, age 96, of Zumbrota, MN passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Waukon, Iowa.
She was born February 2, 1925 on a farm in Buffalo, MN to John and Freda (Guettler) Kubalske. At the age of 3, Ursula moved with her family to the Bryn Mawr neighborhood in Minneapolis, where she made lifelong friends. Ursula graduated from West High School in 1943 and also met her future husband there, when both were in choir. Ursula studied psychology at the University of Minnesota prior to marrying Dolph Bezoier on October 6, 1945. She later became co-manager of the housewares dept. of several Dayton’s department stores. While living in Zumbrota, Ursula started her own hearing aid business. Her children recall her beautiful soprano voice and the many solos she sang in church. She was also a skilled gardener and won many blue ribbons for her floral arrangements. She was active in community theater, the Edina Garden Council and Lion’s Club, and was Lioness and garden council president.
She was an accomplished seamstress, designing and sewing costumes for her husband’s musical productions. Ursula was also talented in needlepoint, crocheting, counted cross stitch, basketmaking, and other crafts. Her hobbies included gardening, bridge club, fishing, and golf. She especially loved playing Wizard. Ursula was an active member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church.
After more than 50 years of marriage, Ursula was preceded in death by her husband, Dolph. She is survived by three children, Dolph “Dee” Bezoier of Zumbrota, Karen (Gerald) Debuhr of Waukon, IA, Jeanyne (John) Slettom of Anoka, MN; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Briana) Perry of Chaska, Jennifer (Dave) Leamy of Los Angeles, Lynnette (special friend Tuk) of Sacramento and Linnea (Aaron) Hansen of Circle Pines, MN; sister, Gisela Clifton of AZ.
The memorial service will be 1 pm Monday, October 25, 2021 at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with The Rev. Dr. Marggi Pleiss-Sippola officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. In accordance with Ursula’s wishes, her body was bequeathed to the Mayo Clinic.
