Troy D. Goehrs

September 12, 1973 — June 15, 2012

Troy Douglas Goehrs, 38 of Bay City, died Friday, June 15, 2012. He was born September 12, 1973, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Gil Jr. and Sherry (Taylor) Goehrs. His family moved to Bay City when he was a child and he graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1992. Troy had worked at Red Wing Shoe before he worked at River Valley, where he had worked as the service manager. He currently was employed in the service department at Red Wing Chevrolet. This past winter, on December 17, 2011, he married the love of his life, Brenda Van Doren, and together they lived in Bay City.

Troy enjoyed living life on the edge and to the fullest. He started hill climbing at the age of five, which lead him into motocross racing, something he truly enjoyed. When he wasn't doing motocross, snocross, watercross or snowmobiling, Troy was a railroad fanatic, he enjoyed collecting model trains and watching trains go by.

We know Troy will be sadly missed, but find comfort in knowing he died doing something he enjoyed the most--spending time on the river with his wife and his dog, Remi; a place where, as he put it, "life is good".

He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Bay City; his mother, Sherry Goehrs of Red Wing; brother, Erik (Star) Goehrs of Murrieta, Calif. and 2 nieces, Jessica and Andi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gil Goehrs, Jr.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel followed by a gathering and celebration of Troy's life at the Sandy Crack International Raceway.
