Trace Darin Olson

Trace Darin Olson, 11 years old, of Zumbrota, MN, gained his angel wings on June 8th, 2020 while doing what he loved. Trace was born on October 5th, 2008 to parents Darin and Cecelia Olson in Rochester, MN. Trace loved playing online video games with all of his cousins, camping, bonfires, riding bike, his hover board, cactus (Prikles), the color red, picking on his sister, and pranking all those he loved. Trace acquired a traumatic brain injury in 2016 and with his strength defeated the odds, went above and beyond to become a real life miracle to everyone who knew him.

Trace was preceded in death by his great-grandma Rosella Olson; great-grandpa Erwin Scheffler; cousin Crystal Olson, and other loved ones. Trace is survived by his parents Darin (Samantha) Olson; Cecelia (Tylor) Olson; sister Vanessa, and bonus sister Alaria; grandparents Dale & Diane Olson; Rosendo & Mo Garcia; and bonus grandparents Randy & Tracy Schaefer; aunts and uncles, Derek (Terin) Olson, Danielle (Adam) Waters, Shannon (David) Lee, Antonio (Amber) Garcia, Rosendo Jr (Kylie) Garcia, and Tabitha Lewis; cousins Skylar & Cayden Olson, Drake, Mason, and Jada Waters, Elizabeth, Ivan, Oscar, David, Allen, Jerry, and Jaxson Lee, Austin and Ashtin Garcia, Hazel Garcia, Logan and Carter Lewis; many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Trace is also survived by his fur-buddies Miley and Winter.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 27th from 1-5pm at the home of Randy and Tracy Schaefer at 9851 Hwy 60 Blvd, Wanamingo, MN 55983. The family would love to see all who knew and loved Trace, to come share memories and celebrate his life. The family will be wearing RED which is Trace's favorite color.
