Todd Stanley Strom, 69 of Red Wing, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was born on April 21, 1952, in Duluth to Enar and Betty (Sivertson) Strom. He graduated from Proctor High School in 1970 and then listed in the US Navy. He served from November 4, 1974 to November 3, 1980 and during this time was a submariner. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Red Wing to follow his 30-year career with Xcel Energy retiring in 2019. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54 and the Red Wing Elks Club BPOE #845. Todd was a lifetime volunteer at Isle Royale. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling the world, scuba diving, and was active in various sports. He loved to entertain and always had many good and bad jokes to share. He had a passion for artistry where he painted, drew, sketched and photographed and at one time interviewed for Disney to be an artist. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. Todd was kind and generous with a huge heart – he was a friend to everyone.
Todd is survived by his four children, Ben (Michelle) Strom, Scott (Heather) Strom, Tony Strom and Jennifer (Wade) Staege; six grandchildren, Brianna, Chloe, Zander & Zavier, Randall and Lily; six grand-furchildren; four siblings, Jody Buerke, Andy Strom, Patty Strom and Chris Strom along with many nieces, nephews and long-time friend, Barb. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with full military honors following the visitation. A celebration of life will be held after the visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Washington Harbor Preservation Group.
