Todd Allen Seeley

March 25, 1955 — March 11, 2021

Todd Allen Seeley, 65, of Albert Lea, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Presbyterian Homes, Norris Square in Cottage Grove. He was born March 25, 1955 in Red Wing, Minn. to Dale “Bill” and Joanne (Bakke) Seeley. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School before going on to earn his engineering certificate. He worked as boiler operator for various organizations but most of his career was with Northern States Power. In his retirement he looked after the boiler and other maintenance projects with the YMCA in Albert Lea. In 2001 he married Kari Fisher. He was a member of Hope Church where he was active both as a church member and a community member, volunteering his time to deliver meals, help with crafts and projects and use his servant’s heart to minister to those in need. His faith was the center point of his life and he used his trust in God to bolster the faith of family and friends. In his younger years, he was an avid runner and he traveled all over the state, bringing his children with him, to participate in marathons and races. That competitive spirit stayed with him even after he had to hang up his running shoes. He continued to walk every day, keeping track of his tens of thousands of steps, always pleased to have walked a little more than the next person. He relaxed by hunting, fishing and cheering on the Minnesota Twins, but most of all, he treasured his time with his children and grandchildren. His generous spirit and a witty sense of humor brought a feeling of levity to any situation.

He will be missed by many, including his wife, Kari of Albert Lea; children, Anna (Todd) Albrecht of Woodbury, Paul Seeley of Red Wing, and Mitchell Seeley-Greenberg of Ottawa, Canada; 8 grandchildren, Mitchell, Allie, Tommy, Brooke, Paige, Lylah, Hazel and Vivian; 4 step -children and their families; siblings, JoLynn (Kerry) Reglin, Paula (Patty Thom) Seeley, and Scott (Michael La Velle) Seeley; as well as many cousins and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Bradford; and his parents.

A Memorial Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 17th at Hope Church at 244 S Broadway in Albert Lea with Pastor Kaleb Hurley officiating. A visitation will be from Noon to 1p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date at St. John's Cemetery in Red Wing.
