The funeral service for Todd A. Arndt will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2008, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island, with Reverend Kip Groettum and Reverend John Torris Lohre officiating. Burial with military honors will be at St. John's Lutheran Church � Bear Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Arndt, Mike Wiebrand, Andy Olson, Ryan Olson, Mark Horning, and Randy Donahue. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessica and Brittney Arndt.

Todd Allen Arndt, 39, of Pine Island died Thursday December 18, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born January 27, 1969 in Zumbrota to Marvin and Dianne (Jacobson) Arndt. He was a 1987 graduate of Pine Island High School where he was active in football, wrestling, and baseball. He also worked with his father and brother on the family farm. He was enlisted in the Marine Corp his senior year of high school and actively started basic training on November 3, 1987. He served 13 ½ years in active duty working in telecommunications. The Marine Corp became his life and he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He traveled extensively with the Marine Corp and served his country in Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He was married May 3, 1991 to Cynthia Simon and they were later divorced. After the Marine Corp he resided in San Diego, CA where he did security guard work until 2005 when he moved back to Minnesota. Since moving back he volunteered and worked at Gramma B's and Willows Elder Care, he also helped his father out with the yard work at home and at the campground. He received an Associate Degree in General Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Science. He enjoyed going to different sports activities and watching them on TV.

He is survived by his parents, Marvin and Dianne (Jacobson) Arndt of Pine Island; sister, Tammy (Michael Wiebrand) Arndt of Rochester; brother, Kevin (Amberly) Arndt of Pine Island; two nieces, Jessica and Brittney Arndt; one nephew, Brandon Arndt all of Pine Island. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mildred Jacobson and paternal grandparents, Allwin "Swede" and Audrey Arndt.

Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel in Pine Island, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
