Timothy M. Seely, age 55 of Lake City, passed away March 17, 2014 at his home.
Timothy was born September 1, 1958 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Philip and Elizabeth (Smith) Seely. He spent much of his childhood moving around the country, mainly Hawaii. He graduated from high school in Mason City, Iowa. On Jan 5, 1976, Tim entered the Marines where he served as a force recon on sniper. After his honorable discharge he met his wife, Darlynn in San Diego, California. On November 20, 1979 Timothy married Darlynn Genaro in Mason City. They had a son, Eric, and then the couple moved to San Diego where Tim worked as a commercial property manager for 13 years. They had their daughter, Dallas, and then moved back to Iowa. The couple made their final move to Lake City when Lynn was offered a job.
Tim was a member of the VFW and Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with horses, fishing, spending time with their "adopted son," Wyatt, gardening, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his helpfulness and kind heart.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Darlynn; one son, Eric; one daughter, Dallas Carsten; three brothers, Philip, Fred, and Patrick; one sister, Christine Eldridge; mother in-law, Dorothy Genaro; father in-law, Pete Amarillas; two sons-in-law, Brian Samson, Jesse Carsten; two sisters in-law, Arnione Sullivan, Sheila Maccheilla; and other extended family members. He was preceded by his parents; and grandmother, Mary Luster.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City, with the Rev. Orin Sandberg officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
