Tilmon Komisar

Tilmon G. Komisar, 77, of Rochester, formerly of Zumbro Falls, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel with the Reverend Linda D. Helberg officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester. Casketbearers will be Cory Eggenberger, Tanner Eggenberger, Parker Eggenberger, James Fisher, Randy Toussaint and Shawn Horning. Honorary casketbearers are Kammie Komisar, Melissa Komisar and Janee' Fisher. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Tilmon George Komisar was born on June 5, 1929 in rural Plainview to Tilmon and Kathryn (Hemler) Komisar. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1948. On October 25, 1952 Tilmon married Dolores Johnson in Mazeppa, where the couple lived for five years. They then relocated to Zumbro Falls where they lived for 26 years. Tilmon worked for over 25 years at Watkins Electric in Rochester. He then worked for Mayo Clinic as a supervisor, retiring in 1994. After retirement, Tilmon and Dolores relocated to Rochester. Tilmon was a member of the Zumbro Falls Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years, retiring as a captain in 1983. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and carpentry. Tilmon is survived by his wife, Dolores of Rochester; daughter, Jeanne (Gary) Eggenberger of Charles City, IA; son, James Komisar of Rochester; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Komisar of West Hills, CA and one brother, Robert (Betty) Komisar of Manhattan Beach, CA. Memorials are suggested to the Mayo Clinic for Alzheimer?s Research.
