Thomas Joel Howard, 70, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019, surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester due to complications of pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born August 5, 1948 to Merle and Verona (Steffenhagen) Howard in Aurora, Illinois. He grew up in southeastern Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. He married Deborah Pearson in 1974. Most of his career was spent with Super America Corporation as a maintenance technician. Whether at work or on his hobby farm, Tom enjoyed fixing things and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah; two daughters, Katherine Howard and Johanna Sievewright; two grandchildren, Ramsay and Rory Sievewright; brother, H. Richard (Billie) Howard; sister, Carol Howard; sister-in-law, Mary Howard; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steve.
Per Tom's request, no formal service will be held. Instead, a casual open house celebration of life will be held from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Ridgetop W10516 US Highway 10, Prescott, Wisconsin.
