Thomas Patrick Carroll

Thomas Patrick Carroll, Jr., Red Wing, died suddenly of apparent cardiac arrest on March 10, 2009. He was born July 22, 1957. Tom was married to Diane Thomas, the love of his life, in Red Wing on June 15, 1996. They lived in Red Wing, along with Diane's son, Kristopher Zank. Tom grew up in St. Paul and served in the U. S. Navy. He worked at Treasure Island Casino, and has worked at the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office since 2000. Tom was a larger than life presence wherever he went and he touched many people's lives. He loved everything about life and lived it to the fullest every day, whether it was cooking, gardening, spending time with his dogs Sophie, Daisy and Molly, a great party, especially when he starred as Santa Claus, and most of all when he was with family and friends.
Tom will be forever missed by his wife, Diane, and her son, Kristopher; his parents, Thomas Patrick, Sr., and Virginia; brother, John and his wife Peggy Ewing Carroll; sisters: Christine Ryan and her husband James, Coleen Carroll and her husband Rick Bryan; grandmother, Lorraine Fairley; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2009 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Private Family Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Detention Center staff.
