Thomas G. Bowers

Thomas Gerald Bowers, 78, of Red Wing, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 16, 2024 of natural causes.  He was born November 18, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Gerald and Mayme (Thomsen) Bowers. His family moved to Texas when he was a young boy.  He graduated in 1964 from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas and went on to attend college in the area.  He received a bachelor’s degree and later in life, attended seminary and became an ordained minister.  Thomas married Mavis Lindgren on October 1, 1977 at Medicine Lake Free Lutheran Church in Plymouth.  In 1994 they moved to Red Wing.  Thomas began working at Walmart in 2003 and recently retired from there on January 20, 2024.   He enjoyed reading, statistics and facts as well as reading his bible and writing sermons.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis Bowers; a sister, Donna Reeves and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in River Falls, Wisconsin, with Rev. David Beebe officiating.  Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
