Thomas Patrick Barry, 52, Red Wing, died Monday of pancreatic cancer at Methodist Hospital in Rochester He was born February 14, 1955 in Red Wing, the son of Patrick Michael and Lois (Trudeaux) Barry. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1973 and worked at ADM for a number of years. He worked for Prairie Island Nuclear Plant for 28 years. On April 2, 2007 he began working at the A. S. King Plant in Bayport. He married Susan Ferrie on May 13, 1995. Tom's biggest love has always been his family, but as his family and friends know second has always been Baseball! Tom, or better known at the local athletic field as "Bear", played baseball all through grade school and high school. As he got older he moved up to the amateur league for the local city team, the Red Wing Aces. Bear played for the Aces for four years as a catcher. For several years after he continued to play in the "old timers" games! Along with Tom's love for baseball he also enjoyed a wide variety of other sports, football, hockey, golf, basketball and NASCAR. He also was always in the stands at the high school gymnastics meets for his daughter, Kayla! He was a member of Church of Saint Joseph, the Redmen Club, Red Wing Elks BPOE 845, the Roundy Club and the Frontenac Tuesday Night Golf League.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; one daughter, Mikayla Barry of Red Wing; one step-daughter, Brooke (Jay) Dugger of Staunton, Ill; one step-son, Jason Pintar of Red Wing; one granddaughter, Sloane Dugger; one grandson, Ryver Pintar; his mother, Lois Barry of Red Wing; three brothers, Michael (Sue) and Daniel (Karen) Barry, all of Red Wing and Joseph (Sue) Barry of Inver Grove Heights; four sisters, Rhea (Dave) Miller of Northfield, Ann (Robert) Andersen and Shannon (Ed) Krawiecki, all of Red Wing and Janet (Jeff) Stewart of Frontenac; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, Brandon Stewart.

Memorial service will be 11 a. m. Friday at the Church of Saint Joseph with Father Roger Hessian officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay, Matt, Bryce, Jon, Nick and Luke Barry, Garrett Miller and Kyle Andersen. Visitation will be 4-8 p. m. with a 8 p.m. prayer service Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
