Thelma G. "Sally" Sundry

Thelma "Sally" Genevieve Sundry, 86, of Wanamingo, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Freedom Pointe in Minnetonka surrounded by her family. She was born on September 24, 1925, in Minneola Township, the daughter of Henry and Tomine (Ovalson) Husbyn. Thelma married Arland "Doc" Sundry on May 31, 1946, and raised four children. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Minneola Lutheran Church in rural Wanamingo and attended country school as a child. She loved homemaking, flowers, golf, and traveling. Thelma and Arland's life centered around their family, friends, church, and community. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Wanamingo, participating in Circle, quilting, and choir. Sally also enjoyed playing bridge and having coffee with her friends.
With Arland's sudden passing on January 18, 2012, it is with great sadness to say goodbye to this beautiful mother by daughters, Susan (Larry) Berg of McGregor, MN; Terry (Scott) Rivard of Minneapolis; and Gina (Joel) Laaveg of Clear Lake, IA; son, Craig (Stephani) Sundry of Shorewood; grandchildren, Tricia, Heather, Jordan, Brandon, Megan, Philip, Daniel, Peter, Jack, Charlie, Matthew, and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Taylor, Corinn, Ethan, Isaac, Bella, Max, Lila, Carson, Charlotte, and Cullen; brother-in-laws, Charles (Cathie) Sundry of Chula Vista, CA, and Dwayne (Cindy) Dallmann of Sun City West, AZ. Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arland; sisters, Grace Farris, Hazel Perrett; and sister-in-law, Carol Dallmann.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo with Reverend Christopher Culuris officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Wanamingo. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
