Tana Jane Cox

Tana Jane Cox, 78, of Lake City, MN passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary’s Mayo Hospital in Rochester on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Tana was born on July 23, 1945, in Louisville KY. To Earl & Vivian (Prebe) Roberts. She was the oldest of five children who lived all over growing up. Maybe this is what started Tana’s lifelong adventurous spirit.

Tana married Richard Cox on February 6, 1999, in Red Wing, MN. This was the beginning of a beautiful love story that is now being lived out in the stars. Because Tana is now reunited with Rick. 

Tana is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Troy) Shell, Stacey Hayes, and son, Larry Howe Jr

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Luhmann, Tanner (Keagan), Tyler, Theodore and Thera Luhmann, Joshua Luhmann,  Courtney Carrell, Isabella and Miles, Jesse Carrell, Aubrey Carrell, Dusty Eichhorn, and Maisen Howe.

Step Granddaughter Nicole McGhee, Audrey & Silas. Sisters Linda Sexton, Mary Jennings and brother Earl Roberts. 

Tana was a free spirit who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. We will miss her laugh and the joy she has spending time with the littles. She was a life member of the VFW Post 8729 Auxiliary and was always willing to help out. Then there was her love of all things Packers. But we loved her anyway 😊. A sunny day with a tall drink and Romeo on her lap watching the kids be goofy was her perfect day.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Cox, her parents, and her sister Carol. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11 am at the First Lutheran Church in Lake City, with Pastor Paul Miller officiating. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. A celebration of life will follow at VFW Post 8729 in Lake City from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. A private family burial will be held at Lakewood Cemetery.
