Susan Ann Hotlen, 50, of Red Wing, died Monday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. She was born on September 16, 1956 in Red Wing to Merlyn and Joyce (Elstad) Waslie. She attended schools in Cannon Falls and Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. She married Michael Veek in 1976. He died December 12, 1991. She was a housekeeper at the St. James Hotel for a few years and for the past 16 years was employed at Treasure Island Resort and Casino. Most recently she worked at Econo Foods and attended Southeast Technical College. She married Wesley Hotlen in 2003. She enjoyed attending Bible Studies. Survivors include her husband, Wesley of Red Wing; two daughters, Jennifer Veek of Red Wing and Kimberly Veek of Toledo, Ohio; mother, Joyce Waslie of Cannon Falls; two brothers, Bruce (Susan) Waslie of St. Paul Park and Michael (Roxanne) Waslie of Red Wing; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Michael Veek and her father. Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Iver Torgerson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or donor?s choice.
