Susan J. Esterby

Susan J. Esterby, 63, of Red Wing, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 17, 1948 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of Philip and Blanche (Berzinski) Morkwed. She grew up on the East Side of Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. She married Carl Esterby in Red Wing in 1967. She worked alongside her daughters at Bev's Café for five years. She made her "world famous" Potato Salad and had people from as far away as Texas calling for her recipe. Sue always made sure that people without family were invited to her home for holidays. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gambling, Elvis, flowers and spending time with her family.

Sue is survived by her husband, Carl Esterby of Red Wing; two daughters, Shelley (Roger) Diercks and Jenney (Tony) Morrell, all of Red Wing; grandchildren: Nick (Stephanie Mickelson) Reinhart, Kaitlyn (Brian Furlong) Reinhart, Rick Reinhart, Christopher Einberger, Jasen Einberger and Stephanie Morrell; great-grandchildren: Aiden Furlong and Noah and Alex Hill; two brothers Les (Dorothy) Gentry and Lance (Jane) Morkwed; two sisters Becky (Ken) Waldvogel and Tammy (Red Anderson) Morkwed. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Louie Berzinski and one granddaughter, Athena McCartt.
