Steven A. Henry, age 68 of Zumbrota died unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2019 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne Schoch officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery with Military Honors.
Steven Allan Henry was born on October 13, 1950 to Wendell and Lyla (Hoyt) Henry in Mankato. He was raised there and graduated from Mankato High School in 1967. Steve enlisted in the United States Army on January 16, 1968 he was stationed in Germany until he was honorably discharged in May 1969. He then re-enlisted with the United States Army National Guard until November 1973. Steve moved to Brainerd to start a construction business with his dad. He moved to Zumbrota in 1982 where he met Dianne Olson they moved back to Brainerd. They married on October 6, 1984 in Brainerd; they lived there briefly before moving back to Zumbrota that next year. Steve began working at Nordquist and then began his career at Cannon Equipment where he worked 20+ years before retiring in 2007. Steve was a member of the VFW Post #5727 Stary-Yerka in Zumbrota.
Steve enjoyed playing horse shoes, listening to records and dancing in the garage, and spending time with family, especially his granddaughters.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Dianne; daughters, Amy Henry, and Robin (Jesse) Stutz; four granddaughters, Hailey Nord, Ryley, Madilyn, and Sylvie Stutz; mother, Lyla Henry; sisters, Sandi (Arden) Olson, and Laura (Tom Olinger) Henry.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Henry; and brother, Larry Henry.
