Spencer James Winch, 20, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly Monday, June 22, 2009 at his home. He was born September 21, 1988, to James and Mary (Williams) Winch. He moved to Red Wing at age four and had attended Red Wing Schools and since the age of 14 he has worked for Ripley's Rental. He wrestled and played football while he was in school. He enjoyed four-wheeling, skiing, snowboarding, motorcycling, and mud trucking.
He is survived by his parents, James and Mary Winch of Red Wing; one brother, Jason (Mikaela) Winch of Red Wing; three sisters, Terri (Nick) Lowman, Natasha Williams, and Ashley (David) Winch, all of Red Wing; maternal grandfather, James Williams of Farmington; paternal grandmother, Alice Winch of Mankato; four nephews, Casey Witts, Kaden Lowman, Kaden Winch, and Gabe Winch; one niece, Madeline Winch; aunt and uncles Lisa and Lenny Burgess of Ramsey and Dennis Winch of Mankato, and five cousins, Jessica, Nathan, Martha, Jamie, and Andrew. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Leila Williams, paternal grandfather, Gordon Winch, and aunt, Joanne Williams.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Pastor Tom Johnson officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4 p.m. ? 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Mississippi Valley Alano, a nonprofit organization.
