Sidney R. Grinde, age 89, of Lake City, died March 21, 2006 at the Lake City Hospital. Sidney was born January 25, 1917 in Morrisonville, WI to Sjur & Bertha (Linde) Grinde; He graduated from DeForest High School in 1938. He married Neva Miller August 19th, 1940 in Dubuque, IA. After they were married, they lived in Morrisonville, WI for many years. He worked for Mair Lumber Company in Morrisonville and also raised tobacco. He then became a realtor and owned his own real estate business, Pine Valley Realty in DeForest, WI. He sold his business to First Realty and worked for them for a few years until he retired. The moved to Lake City in August of 1997. Neva died June 24, 2003. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake City. He was an avid Packer fan and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He is survived by two daughters Patricia (David) Niebuhr of Lake City, MN, Nancy Wass de Czege of Rochester, N.Y; one granddaughter Lynn Marie (Kevin) Butterworth of Boise, Idaho, one step- grandson Chip (Linda) Niebuhr of West Allis, WI; one sister Helen Sorensen of Wichita, KS; a special friend Lorraine Swanson of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife; one step-granddaughter; two brothers and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lake City with the Reverend Don Jones officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City.
