Shirley Ann Schultz, 70, of Red Wing, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born February 9, 1949 to Dale and LaVonne (Lorenzen) Scott in Luverne, Minnesota. She spent her early childhood in the Hardwick area until her family moved to Red Wing, where she graduated from Red Wing Central High School. She married Skip Hanson in 1971 and together they had one son, Matt. They later divorced. On August 7, 1982 she married Dennis Schultz and they made their home in rural Red Wing. They had one daughter together, Lindsey. Shirley worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company for more then 35 years until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed her part-time role as a lunch lady in the kitchen in the Goodhue School District. Shirley was a 20 year survivor of Leukemia and recent survivor of lung cancer. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she was immensely proud of them and loved attending their events. She also loved her dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Red Wing; two children, Matthew (Jolene) Hanson of Frontenac and Lindsey (Scott) Langhans of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren, Gage, Max, Scottie and Lillie; one brother, Butch (Barb) Scott of Red Wing; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Nellie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and dog, Rudy.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Arthur Sharot officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel Red Wing. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Red Wing Mayo, Lake City Care Center, and Heartland Hospice for all their care and concern for Shirley.
