Shirley Mewhorter

Shirley Elizabeth Mewhorter, 90, of Red Wing, died Sunday, January 3, 2021, at her home.  She was born on December 7, 1930, in Bay City to Gerald and Eleanor (Chicquette) Hall.  She attended schools in Bay City and for a few years worked at the Red Wing Pottery.  She married Luverne Mewhorter on September 2, 1950.  They lived in Bay City until moving to Red Wing in 1956.

Shirley is survived by her two children, Rockie Mewhorter and Ava (Gary) Knutson; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Sherman Hall along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one sister, Geraldine Bush.

A private family service will be held at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.  Burial will be at the Bay City Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
